Bringing a hint of brightness to the composition is the brass inlay that intersects on some edges where the marble pieces meet; the fact that they do so in a random composition adds interest to the black and white mirror. The inside edge of the frame where it intersects with the glass is black. There are two cleats on the mirror so it can be hung vertically or horizontally.
